The course in detail: swimming, cycling, and running
The International Triathlon of Lake Annecy is an event that attracts athletes of all levels every year, from beginners to the most experienced, in a magnificent setting: that of the city of Annecy and its lake. This triathlon is considered one of the most beautiful in Europe, and it represents a real challenge through three disciplines: swimming, cycling, and running.
Regarding the course details, the race begins with 1.5 km of swimming, with a loop offshore and a passage under the Pont des Amours, one of the most photographed spots in Annecy. Participants will exit the water in the Vassé canal, in the heart of Annecy. They will then continue with 47 km of cycling, alternating between mountains and lake shores: in addition to the physical effort, participants will pedal through a sublime setting, all while being encouraged by the crowd. Finally, the race ends with 10 km of running, on a completely flat route, with two loops between Le Pâquier and Albigny beach.
How to register and prepare for the race

If you do not wish to participate in the race, for various reasons, you can still come to cheer on those who will be facing this triathlon challenge. Several strategic locations will allow you to both chant your friends’ names and discover certain places in Annecy and its region: first, head to the Lovers’ Bridge, as this is where participants will pass during the swimming event; by the way, you should know that the Lovers’ Bridge is renowned for being a favorite spot for wedding photographs and a meeting point for couples who wish to immortalize their visit to Annecy.
If you prefer to welcome participants as they exit the water, head to the Vassé Canal, one of the many canals that make up the Venice of the Alps. For those who prefer nature, you can wait for participants on the shores of Lake Annecy; moreover, we advise you to bring a towel and something to swim in if you want to cool off while waiting for the cyclists!
Finally, you can wait for participants at the finish line located at the Pâquier d’Annecy, a magnificent city park where you can relax and chat with your friends who will have completed this true challenge that is the Annecy Triathlon.
